Abuse and Copyright Policy
Effective 1 October 2026. How to report abuse or infringement coming from our network.
Where to report
Send reports to abuse@example.com. One report per incident helps us act faster. We read every report and respond to the reporter when we have taken action.
What to include
- The IP address or URL involved
- The date and time of the activity, with time zone
- The type of abuse, such as spam, phishing, malware, attack traffic or infringement
- Evidence: full email headers, relevant log lines or screenshots
- Your contact details, so we can follow up
How we respond
We forward valid reports to the customer responsible and ask them to resolve the issue, usually within 24 hours. For active attacks, phishing, malware distribution and child sexual abuse material, we act immediately and may suspend the server before contacting the customer.
Copyright infringement notices
If you believe content on a server in our network infringes your copyright, send a notice to abuse@example.com with the following:
- Your physical or electronic signature
- Identification of the copyrighted work
- The exact URL of the infringing material
- Your address, telephone number and email address
- A statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorized by the owner, its agent or the law
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information is accurate and that you are the owner or authorized to act for the owner
We forward complete notices to the customer and remove or disable access to the material when the customer does not resolve the matter.
Counter notices
A customer who believes material was removed by mistake may send a counter notice to abuse@example.com with their contact details, identification of the material, a statement under penalty of perjury that it was removed by mistake, and consent to the jurisdiction of the appropriate courts. We forward it to the original reporter.
Repeat infringers
We terminate the accounts of customers who repeatedly infringe the rights of others.
Law enforcement
Requests from law enforcement go to legal@example.com. We disclose customer information only when legally required and, where allowed, tell the affected customer.
